Hunk of the day: Ian Somerhalder

Ian Joseph Somerhalder (born December 8, 1978) is an American actor and model, best known for playing Boone Carlyle in the TV drama Lost and Damon Salvatore in the TV drama The Vampire Diaries.

    

Somerhalder was born and raised in Covington, Louisiana, the son of Edna, a massage therapist, and Robert Somerhalder, an independent building contractor. Raised Catholic, he attended St. Paul's, a private Catholic school in Covington. He embarked on a modeling career from age 10 to 13, and by the age of 17 he decided to go into acting.

    

In the summer of 2000, Somerhalder starred in the short-lived WB series Young Americans, a spin-off of Dawson's Creek. He played Hamilton Fleming, the son of the dean of a prestigious boarding school. In 2002, Somerhalder played bisexual character Paul Denton in Roger Avary's adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' novel, The Rules of Attraction, alongside James Van Der Beek, Shannyn Sossamon, and Jessica Biel.

In 2004, Somerhalder scored his breakthrough role when he played Boone Carlyle in the hit TV show Lost. Despite his character's death in the twentieth episode of the first season, Somerhalder returned to the role of Boone for seven more episodes between 2005 and 2010, including the series finale. Somerhalder was the first actor to be cast in a role for the series and the first character to die.

In 2009, Somerhalder appeared in the movie The Tournament where he played the role of an assassin participating in a lethal competition with other assassins. On 10 October 2009, it was announced that he will star in the Gothic movie Cradlewood, which is to be directed by Harry Weinmann. The movie is set to be released in 2013. He appears in the coffee table book About Face by celebrity photographer John Russo.

  

In June 2009 Somerhalder was cast in the role of Vampire Damon Salvatore as a series regular in The CW television drama series The Vampire Diaries. The series premiere attracted The CW's highest premiere ratings of any season premiere since the network began in 2006. The series has continued to be the highest rated series on its channel with both Somerhalder's performance and show receiving a positive response from critics. Somerhalder has received a Teen Choice Award for his participation on the series. The shows third and most recent season premiered on September 15, 2011.

    

While working on The Vampire Diaries, Somerhalder began dating his co-star Nina Dobrev.

Hunk of the day: Rob Evans

The newest hottie judge of America’s Next Top Model, Rob Evans, is the Hunk of the day.

First of all, I think that it is just time to have a hunk model to be a judge on ANTM to satisfy the needs of the feminine viewers! I mean, there was Nigel Barker but he’s just an eye candy. We need something more than that to make us glued to the show!

Rob Evans, born in 1988, in Oxford, United Kingdom, is British boxer turned model, most notably known for his work with "Givenchy" for the Spring 2011 season.

When Evans was discovered in 2010, the last thing he was thinking about was modeling -- he would have probably laughed and shrugged off the notion -- let alone creating a sensation walking the Givenchy Spring/ Sumer 2011 Men's show in Paris. He was in Oxford, UK training at his local boxing gym maintain his amazing 6'3 physique.

Many have tried but we really haven't had a black male model stir up a buzz since the legendary Tyson Beckford. So far modeling has allowed Evans to walk in shows in Paris and in the 2011 NY fashion week had designers scrambling to include his stunning presense in their runway shows. Photographers have been breaking necks to get the opportunity to capture him in front of their lens.

Represented by Major Model Mgmt in 2011, Evans has already an impressive collection of magazine editorial and runway work. Along with "Givenchy", he has walked the runway for "Trussardi". His editorial work has been featured in "Numero Tokyo", "i-D Magazine" and "Self Service".

Everything about Evans is beautiful: his face, his body, his size, and his personality is super cool. His friends describe him as very gracious and humble.

Meet America's Next Top Model's Sexy New Judge Rob Evans!

In case you haven’t heard already, The CW announced this morning that America's Next Top Model was getting a new judge, male model Rob Evans. Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the sexy Brit at The CW Upfronts Presentation in New York City today for an exclusive first interview about his new role, how he’ll judge the modelstants, and if there will be any flirting between him and Tyra Banks.

WE: Can you tell us a bit more about your history as a model and how you were picked for the show?
Rob: I was picked because I come around at the right time. When I first started modeling I was thrust into the deep end, so I worked with the top photographers, top magazines, and the top female models. So even though I've only been a model for two years I know a lot about the modeling industry. I watched the show before I became a model.

They were looking for someone young a beautiful and already a model. Someone who could interact with the girls. So I did an interview with them and that was that.

What do you think you can bring to the show that the former judges couldn’t?
I'm young, I'm same age as the girls. I've been a model. I can look at it both ways instead of just judging it. I can help the girls with photoshoots, I can take photos with them.
What kind of advice do you think you can offer the girls?
Just good advice about how to make it in the industry. I've only been in the industry for two years but I know a lot about it. I know about your personality, being on time, being easy to work with. I'm going to give them survival skills.

Do you know about any of the other new guest judges?
No. I know right now it is is me, Tyra, and Kelly Cutrone. We start filming on [May] 20th so I guess I’ll find out then.
Any details on where you guys will be visiting and traveling to?
It’s all sworn to secrecy. I haven’t been told!

You’re obviously a good looking guy, do you think there will be romance rumors about you and Tyra?
Definitely. I'm a big flirt anyway.

Hunk of the day: Nick Cheadle

Hunk of the day is Australian Personal trainer Nick Cheadle.

Could you tell us a bit of yourself and how you started training?

I started doing the typical beach weights routine around the age of 16 at school.  Everyone just wanted to have a big chest and big arms, so most afternoons that we didn’t have school sporting commitments we’d be doing curls in the school gym.

I’ve now been a Personal Trainer for 3 years & it has been in this time that I have taken a genuine interest in proper training & nutrition. I run my own business ‘Nick Cheadle Fitness’ which involves one-on-one personal training & writing online meal plans & workout regimes.

    

How do you stay motivated?

I love the lifestyle I lead & I love looking the way I do.  In my mind though, I’ll never have the perfect body, which means there will always be something to work on, something to improve upon.  I want to lead by example to friends, family & clients that you can lead a healthy lifestyle, train hard & look & feel as good as you possibly can.

    

What is your diet like?

I follow IIFYM (If it fits your macros), which has really set me free in regards to letting my hair down a little.  Generally I stick to clean, unprocessed foods however this gives me the freedom to change things up on the go – it’s not always possible to eat chicken and broccoli!  As long as I hit my protein, carbs & fat goals for each day based on my goals then I’m good.  Generally, I eat 5 meals throughout the day, each spaced around 3 hours apart from one another, as my body tends to work well like this.  I also drink 5-6 litres of water a day.  The main foods I eat include:

·       Oats
·       Brown/ basmati rice
·       Soy lin toast
·       Rice cakes
·       Blueberries/ strawberries/ bananas
·       Chicken
·       Tuna
·       Eggs & egg whites
·       Protein powder
·       Salads – tomatoes/ spinach/ mushrooms etc
·       Broccoli & other mixed veggies
